David Spear

Owner/President

David L. Spear, President of Markle Insurance, has been in the insurance business since 1997. David began his insurance career in Bluffton, Indiana, by opening his own office as an agent for a Midwest-based insurance company. In 2000, David became the Managing Agent for Markle Insurance, then owned by Markle Bank. David purchased the agency from Markle Bank in 2004. He is a Nationwide Farm Certified Agent.

David received an Associates Degree from Danville Area Community College and later attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. David was raised in west central Indiana, where he worked as a police officer for nine years. David moved to Wells County in 1996, and now resides in Northern Wells County with his wife, Donna, and their three children. Outside of the office, David enjoys hunting, fishing and working outdoors and is a member of the Zanesville United Methodist Church, member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge #145, Valley of Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, and the Mizpah Shrine Temple in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Donna Spear

Chief Operation Officer

Donna M. Spear, Chief Operations Officer, joined Markle Insurance in April of 2007 upon leaving a career in the legal profession spanning more than 15 years. Donna oversees the day to day operations and marketing of Markle Insurance, which allows her husband David more time to devote to sales. Donna received her Indiana Producer's License in July of 2007.

Donna is a 1988 graduate of Purdue University and a 1991 graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law. Donna has worked for the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, and for the Porter County and Wells County, Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys. In addition to government service, Donna was in private law practice for over 10 years and served as the President of Wells County Land Title, Inc.

Donna moved to Wells County in 1996 along with her husband, David. David and Donna now reside in northern Wells County along with their three children. Donna also serves as the Northern Wells Community Schools Board of Trustees. Donna and her family are members of the Zanesville United Methodist Church.

Sherry Watt

Licensed Customer Service Representative

Sherry Watt joined MarkleInsurance in September of 2007 as a Customer Service Representative. Sherry has previously worked for MarkleBank, UAW Legal Services, as a travel agent, and office manager/secretary both for a group of pastors and in a family business. Sherry brings with her a wide-range of skills and life experiences to draw upon as she embarks upon a career in the insurance field.

Sherry attended IPFW and studied elementary education. Sherry and her husband, Tom, live in Zanesville, where Tom serves as a Pastor. Sherry and Tom have two children, Richard and Laura, who both live and work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

John L. Becker, Jr.

Retirement Specialist

John L. Becker, Jr., Retirement Specialist, has been involved with Markle Insurance since 2004. John began his career with New York Life in 1980 specializing with families and small business Life Insurance, Health insurance, estate planning and total retirement planning needs.

John received a BS degree in Management & Marketing from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. John is Chairman of the University of St Francis Entrepreneurship Advisory Board committee in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Active in Charitable Giving programs as President of Worldwide Seminarian Support, Woman’s Life and Redeemer Radio.

John and his wife Patty have four children and are active at St Vincent Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. John is member of the National Eagle Scout Association and Assistant Scout Master at Boy Scout Troop 2.

Lisa Harbuck

Lisa Harbuck, is a Licensed P & C Agent and currently holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative and Certified Professional Insurance Agent designations. She has been in the insurance industry since 1986 while beginning her career with K & K Insurance, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Lisa has moved back home to Indiana, after 11 years of living in Louisiana, with her husband Jason and their daughter. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, her 3 children, crocheting, reading and learning new crafts.
